We were excited about our first try-out in Sri Lanka, after a period of lockdown due to the pandemic. We wondered if 'Cyriel, the friendly whale made of papier mâché,' would appeal to the children. After all, the ecological message had to be understood by the young audience.

We walked the streets of Lanka with Cyriel, our whale friend made of papier maché. We were curious to hear the children's unfiltered responses. What did the children think, and how did they assess our mission? And Yes, Cyriel was a great attention-getter and allowed children to discover his message on their own.

Everyone was curious, young, and old. So became Cyriel highly appreciated by the street workers of Colombo city. After all, they had the most experience with plastic junk.
